My recently completed diptych painting seeks to capture the essence of this beautiful country, featuring the iconic Swayambhunath Temple at night and a typical Nepali village house adorned with pumpkins and corn on the roof, all under the enchanting glow of a full moon. The first panel of the diptych portrays the Swayambhunath Temple, a sacred site that holds deep spiritual significance for the Nepali people. Bathed in the soft light of the full moon, the temple’s golden spire stands out against the night sky, casting a mystical aura over the surrounding landscape. In the second panel, a traditional Nepali village house takes center stage, its thatched roof adorned with pumpkins and corn, symbolizing abundance and prosperity. The house is bathed in the silvery light of the full moon, which casts long shadows and creates a serene and ethereal atmosphere. As I painted this diptych, I was inspired by Nepal’s natural beauty and spiritual depth. The country’s landscapes are truly awe-inspiring, and its culture is rich and diverse. Through my painting, I hope to convey a sense of the magic and wonder that can be found in this beautiful country, and to pay tribute to its timeless traditions and spiritual heritage.
